Well, this article costs me my whole experience yet and off course plenty of time to compile for you guys. I have tried my best to describe all Search Engine rankings factors especially in Google. Almost? Really? :p Although it is hard to say that I have taken all the measurements exactly by Google’s requirements, it may vary but slightly, or if any changes occur after this pack of information is published, as is, we can clear that in our comment section, so it’s pretty simple, try and try and try, and when you tired of trying, then again try πŸ˜€ That’s what I called realistic SEO.


What? You never heard before about “Realistic SEO”? Come ‘on its simple “the one in which you get results by really doing something rather than claiming the Google your worst nightmare” :p So here, all we will talk about something that is real and worth something. Hope you feel me.

1-Meta Tags

The importance of this tag cannot be overestimated. Has very strong influence on the position of the webpage among all other tags. A little detail will be good I think.

i.) Keywords in Title Tag

The keyword which you use for your title tag, that must be chose very wisely by consulting Google Adwords or any other sources you have, because if you do not have a deeply researched keyword in your title tag, getting rank in Google is just a day dream.

ii.) Title Uniqueness

A unique thing is always preferred by Google, if you work with your title in a way that is not common nor even meaningless, the meanings you get will make you meaningful, a title created with some new ideas will always get viral in the rankings around you.


iii.) Area of Keywords

That is pretty interested thing I mostly love to describe and imply that on my work every time, keyword which is within the title, and used efficiently in the content body as well, will work like a jet ride for your content towards ranking in the Google.

iv.) Placement of Keywords

This part is the most convenient way to talk with Google, because if you will do that thing perfectly as I will guide you, Google will become your best Pal. We have to decide intelligently, the gaps within the usage of a same keyword in our content, if you will use your keyword repeatedly again and again line after line or two line after line, first your keyword density will increase which is really a bad thing for content ranking, and secondly your keyword will be spammed and you will never get your desired results or rankings. Use perfect sequences and gaps within your keywords, I always go with four points to place my keywords, Title, Header, Body and Footer, that’s the best I will suggest you.

v.) Separators in Header

Your header should be the summary of your content category, and we always use some signs to separately deliver the niche in our site. “Dashes” ( – ) and “Forward Slashes” ( / ) are really bad your impact on user and definitely it annoys Google Bot to understand your message to him/her πŸ™‚ My personal experience and usage is vertical slashes “|” not because I like that only because it helps Google to understand. So no matter you like me or not, use “Vertical Slashes” πŸ˜€

vi.) Use Perfect Descriptions

Consider yourself as an unknown person in the web world, and then open a website which has no images, no bold headings in the content, just huge content in Arial 9, and you also wanted to know that what is this site about and obviously you are terrified to read such massive and messy content, so what will you unconsciously do? You will go to the description and here it is, all well that ends well.

So this story is only to help you understand that how much your description is important to guide your user. Choose the best words deeply which describes your purpose to user and Google, and the most important thing i must tell you, that sometimes you and I read some descriptions and after reading them we ask our self’s a quick question, what was that? Means that was strange and way beyond the common sense, so use the least possible words which we usually hear or say. Also talk a bit about your service you are providing through that channel. 15 words are good but max, so best case scene is to be within the fifteen words, now it’s up to you that how good you are in comprehension.

vii.) The Title Length

That case is mostly the trail of our previous conversation, so as you know now that you have to use words which make sense, uniqueness is really good, but odd uniqueness will make Google hate you, so don’t ever try to hurt Mr. G πŸ˜›

Here we will choose within the count of characters not words. The length of the title must be within 65 characters max, as I told you pals, don’t act like the brand ambassador of red bull πŸ˜€ means don’t go for max every time, stay within the average limit of characters, if it is saying 65 characters for your title, you go 45 to 55.


I am saying that because of the latest changes within the Google rankings, that long titles are not being liked by Google anymore.

viii.) Letter Case

That is pretty interested cause, really easy to take control on this thing, simply follow my lead, use the specific kind of keypad which do not have “caps lock” and “shift” button. πŸ˜€

To write all words in uppercase letters is considered in bad manners, so avoid such little but impassive mistake to create your titles.

ix.) Keyword Density

The factor which we mostly neglect by not making a strategy, is the usage of your keyword within the specific percentage according to the content, which you call “Keyword Density” but I will say that “Keyword Presentsity”, I know this doesn’t make any sense, as far this is my terminology, so let me explain, in simple words I will say how many times my “Primary Keyword” says “Present” during attendance in the class of my content. See? Nothing you can’t explain. πŸ™‚

So let me gave you an example of some keywords: Online Funny jokes, online best jokes, online crazy jokes, Online freaky jokes etc etc. Jokes jokes jokes jokes, are we in a laughter show here? πŸ˜€

So consider our primary keyword is word “joke” and it is present in the content repeatedly, without any change of sense, rather than only changing synonyms, so this is not a good way to be in the good book of Google ranking, avoid such patterns and make your keyword say “Present” only when Google asks for it in his class of rankings.

1.1 Description Tag

i.) Description Availability

This tag is really important for your web page to deliver the message to the user who uses Google to search your website by using a keyword; this part is especially for the search engine, because it will make a snippet preview of your description.

If you do not put Meta description tag, the chances of SERP (Search Engine Result Pages) will fall.


ii.) The Presence of Keywords

Your keywords primary or secondary whatever you are using, they should be present in the page description, it will act like a boost for your keyword position in the Google.

iii.) Uniqueness of Description

Description works like a prescription for the health of your website.

Good Food = Good Health

Good Description = Good Website

For each page of your site you must use a different description, because pages are also indexing separately by the search engine, so they must have separate descriptions as well, same description for all your pages? That’s a really bad idea. Firstly it will cost you de-ranking and secondly your “keyword presidensity” will increase which I already told you. So don’t use the same description over and over again.

iv.) Description Length

Again we are here discussing numbers, feels like a mathematics class πŸ™‚ Well, if the numbers will bring you something good, then why not?

The length of the description is mandatory section for SEO strategies in 2016, length of the description is 140 characters (Good) to 155 characters (Max), so we have to set the character limit for our description within such numbers. Characters more than required will make your description spam and that is a negative impact on your whole SEO ranking.

1.2. Meta Keywords

i.) Presence of Keywords

This tag is although not necessary by some internet guru’s, but I must say this tag plays a important role within the search engine, meta keywords are the tags which stays within the HTML code of a webpage and allows search engine to judge the topic of that specific page, and if you use your keywords in this tag, that will be much beneficial, so now you tell me, is this a thing to skip? You can answer this question in the comment box πŸ™‚

1.3 Heading Tags (H1-H6)

i.) Keywords in Heading Tags

We mostly call those “H Tag” and then there are sub tags, H1, H2, H3…..H6. If your keywords are in the heading tags as well as in the title, that will be a perfect fit, the use of LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords here is my opinion.

ii.) Sequence of Heading Tags

Heading tags should be used by following the counting pattern, like H1 then H2 then H3 and then so on, suppose you don’t want to use H1 tag but you want to use H2 and H3 so go with the pattern, like H2 first and H3 after, Countdown of the opposite sequence will only lead you towards bad rankings, like H3 first then H2 and then H1.

iii.) Heading Tags Length

The length of heading tags must be appropriate, like not more than your title tag nor just a single word. Let me tell you there is no character or word limit is ever recorded or explained by Google yet, so in that case we have to be creative and choose our own numbers, try to be within 15 to 20 characters.

2. Redirects

i). Using Redirects

Firstly, let me clear myself, it annoys me a lot, when a website redirects me from here to don’t know where, it is my personal experience that Google will not bother with your redirects, but when he will see that you are disturbing the user by playing hustle and bustle, your bounce rate will explain all to Google and the his actions will explain all to your SEO rankings. So the usage of redirects is purely negative for webpage.

ii). Redirect Codes

Come on guys, you seriously have to do redirects? Well, if it is so important than let me tell a bit, just bit, only for information, but do not try this at home πŸ˜€ πŸ˜›

You can made a redirect through your hosting control panel, all you have to do is to select “URL Redirects” then create a new redirect and then enter your domain you want to redirect, then it will ask you where to redirect? Then enter the other domain, it will further ask you details, 301 is a permanent redirect, and 302 is temporary redirect, choose any, click ok and that’s it. That’s not the part of SEO but just for information if you ever feel a need to redirect your webpage. I will say again the use of redirects is nothing but de-ranking.

2.1. Error 404

Remember that 404 error means the page is not found, which is not good for your SERP, this mistake happens when you create a page or post, publish it, and then by some mistake you delete that post or page, or your database crashed, etc, search engine has already indexed that and showing results against your deleted page or post, when some user will land on the specific page by search engine, it will show the page or post with 404 error, saying “Page Not Found”, Google will never tolerate such happenings for the well being of their users.


2.2. Page Loading Speed

The loading speed of your webpage decides how efficient is your management, perfect timing is 3 to 5 seconds, your page must be loaded completely within the time frame, the speed of internet connection can cause some hurdles, but with a slow connection, it should take 10 seconds max, but if your loading speed of the webpage is slower than this, that is a negative impact on user, user will wait a bit, and then he/she will move on next by closing your webpage, which will increase your site’s bounce rate, and such happenings are not good your for rankings.

2.3. Website Hosting

Your website should be in running state 24/7, no matter what, because world wide web is not a place for inactive things, so if you are having any issues in your server support or having any downtime, it is like a cancer for your site.

Some of us think that it’s not a big deal if the site goes down for a minute or two, but let me clear you with a solid reason, suppose, when your site goes down for a minute or two, at same Google crawler crawls throughΒ  your site, then what will happen? It will pick, that website is not available and delivers the same message to Google, and then appropriate action will be taken towards your rankings, it also annoys user that the landing page is down due to some hosting issues. So your hosting service must be really good and reliable, take your time for choosing a good web host, ask friends, and try free trials first. Always select a monthly plan for your hosting fee; in case service providers create any issues, you will be able to move next easily.

3. Website Name/URL

These SEO Ranking Factor includes several sub-factors:

i.) Keyword in Domain Name

You must select your website name or URL very carefully, because it helps a lot in overall SEO strategies, if you are providing any services or selling a product and your basic keyword exists in your website name as well, that’s more like a gold stream, all SEO factors will support you for your good ranking, there is also a bit negative aspect of the exact match keyword with your domain name, that the usage of your keyword will increase and will cost you some penalty, but as we discussed above, we can handle this guys, right? My priority is always a perfect match domain if I am working on some brand or product.


ii.) The Length of Domain

Characters or words length of your domain name is also important factor for your SEO rankings, it should be something meaningful or easy to remind. Your website name must explain your type of work within very common and lesser words that will catch the user and build trust. My recommendation is maximum 3 words.

Google doesn’t like long length website names, so avoid such subjective types and be objective.

iii.) The Age of Domain

I always listen to my Granny; she is aged and way mature than any other in my house, see? That thing also works with Google, if your website name is old, strong and mature, he will definitely listen to you πŸ™‚

It’s a plus point for your solid and stable position, I am not saying that new names are not worth anything, but the aged domains have leverage.

iv.) Domain Zone/Region

I personally do not believe that Google count regions for ranking, it is just the categorizations of countries and domain names accordingly; it will only help you in general to be specific within your service zone, like your work zone is UK then domain will suite your business to grow easily, so it’s the general intro, you need nothing more than that. Let’s move forward.

4. Content

i.) Avoid Mistakes

As we all know, which alphabets and numbers exists where on our keypad, then why we make mistakes? I still ask this question to myself πŸ™‚

Content with perfect use of grammar and correct spellings is always good, no need to explain further on that, but as we are discussing SEO strategies and factors, we must avoid brief definitions πŸ˜€

Quality content is always catchy and interesting, this section is only for user, search engine has nothing to do with this, if you will write bla bla bla, search engine will happily index that, but user reaction will be BLA BLA BLA, I hope you understand πŸ˜›

ii.) Keywords in Content

There was a time, when Google preference was the number of occurrences of a keyword in the content, the more you mention the more results you will get, but now algorithms and strategies are not like before, so what SEO strategies we should use in 2016?

In my workspace I always go with odd number of keywords in an article, like 1, 3, 5 etc, but it depends how lengthy is the article, apply the same strategy as we discussed above, no need to be some super guru. πŸ™‚

One personal thing I wanted to share, that we mostly focus on search engine patterns and requirements for our content, but not the requirement of our user, we make it search engine friendly but not user friendly, that is not a good deal, because search engine always capture your user reactions to make your rankings.

iii.) The Age of Content

As we talked above about the age of domain name, here we are again talking about age, but for content. With the passage of time, your content will become stronger and will achieve the best positions in Google ranking. I called this factor “The Auto Good”, because it will automatically take you towards good.

iv.) The Quality of Content

Your content must be user friendly first then search engine friendly, use of simple but unique sets of words is good as always, do not use duplicate content for your website, it is strictly against Google content policies, the most negative impact on your SEO rankings is duplicate or bad quality content.

Create meaningful content, use some attraction in your content for user, a bit use of humor is a plus point, if you are not sure about your content duplication, there are many free software which can run your content to test the duplication, use some of them, but a content which you write by yourself by gathering information, is always a high quality content, and that is what you need. High quality publications are always preferred by Google.

v.) The Quantity of Content

Content posting on your website is like a school home work, which you have to do on daily basis, add new content in your website daily, it will attract your user, your area of content and knowledge will expand and obviously Google likes the regular updates πŸ˜›

The more time you will give to your website the more outcomes you will get, speaking in the manner of content, quality and quantity must work side by side. Your content must have a volume of words or characters, and the pattern should be random, like 1000 words, 1500 words or 2500 words, it is good for a site to have various volumes within the content, articles with same count of words will make your content suspicious or created by some writing software.

vi.) Cloaking

That’s bad, really bad. Deceiving the search engine and user will get you nothing but the waste of time and de-ranking, some says that cloaking is the short cut to boost your keywords, but i say it’s a short cut to destroy all your previous efforts.


Showing user and search engine two different things will never help you succeed, and furthermore, if a website gets caught by search engine using clocking, the results will be huge penalty, including being removed from indexing completely.

vii.) Images in Content

The presence of images in the content always helps to improve your looks; your website appearance will make your user like you, so use appropriate images in your content with the ratio of 70-30, means 70% content and 30% image, that is the best combo.

viii.) The Quality of Image

Create your own images relevant to your content, do not steal images from other websites and use them on your website, there is also the image duplication as well as content, so maintain your own images my giving them your personal height or length, sharp color schemes are always user’s attraction.

Use multiple sizes of images according to your page layout; image should be placed in the area where it is needed most.

5. Website

i.) The Design of Website

Website should be decorated like Christmas tree, although Google is not Santa, but your users will like that πŸ™‚ A good and friendly design of your website is always good for fame, and fame is all we need, use perfect color schemes, easy to understand patterns, and moderate graphics. That’s all a websites should have.

ii.) The Number of Pages

There is no such restriction or policy for the count of pages in your website, so go on, do whatever you like, just make sure your each page has unique content and that’s it.

iii.) Creation of Subpages

The creation of subpages is an interesting topic to tell you, those pages which are connected to your main pages, or the inner pages of your main pages are called subpages, so not a big deal, anyone can make those, but the reach of user to your subpages must be easy. Maximum click count from main page to sub page is 3, means user must not click more than 3 times to go on your any subpage, so create them within the fair distance.

iv.) Use of Advertising

Although, it is not that bad to use any advertiser on your webpage, but in generally all of them provides sticky ads, like pop ups, pop under, hidden ads, using their scripts in your HTML code will make your website work slow, that creates a big trouble for your user.

As advertising has nothing to do with your Google ranking, then why not? Use Google Adsense or any other advertiser who provides clear ad banners without any itchy scripts.

6. Linking

This factor is a matter of huge discussion, but we will discuss that according to the sequence here, many of us believes that only this factor of SEO matters and other are not worth anything, but I must say if you do not count on other factors with SEO, this factor worth’s nothing. Let’s move ahead.


6.1. Off Page SEO Ranking Factors or Inbound Links

i.) Backlinks

As a SEO learner, the term backlink is used several and several times, so we are much familiar with this word, we are not discussing here on how to get a backlinks, but you can use blogs, forums, and directories for such purpose, and always use a backlink relevant to the topic of your website and content, that will be much appreciated by Google.

ii.) The Count of Inbound Links

I never count my inbound links, because no matter the numbers, they always seem less to me πŸ™‚ So there is no restriction or policy on getting inbound links, but use different anchor text each time you create a inbound link, using a same anchor text or keyword for backlink will damage the position of your working keyword.

iii.) Links from Social Networks

Linking with social networks is way easy and convenient rather than other platforms, you can create inbound-ship with social networks, Google will also consider that link as inbound, but the worth will be bit less rather that getting the links from non social networks.


iv.) Links from Competitors Websites

This is the most effective part of inbound linking by getting the backlink from the websites of your competitors, only 1 link will be more than enough in that case, I am not saying that only take one, I am saying even 1 inbound link will be enough to compete with your rivals πŸ™‚

v.) The Age of Links

The more age of the links, the more weighty they become, old inbound linking is much and much favorable for your SEO rankings, always keep in touch with those links by deriving user to the relevant webpage, this will help your link remain active.

vi.) Anchor Text of Links

Anchor text must be different from your rich anchor to create the link building more naturally; it should be choose sensibly, because the excessive use of same anchor text will cost you no results.

vii.) Location of Link

The location from where you get a backlink matters a lot, it must be taken from the content body, header or footer, avoid links from side bars. Your link must be surrounded with content relevant to your anchor text, so it should look like a relevant thing to user and search engine as well. Not like a strawberry on a plum tree πŸ™‚

viii.) The Trust of Link

If you are getting a backlink from a trustworthy website with a good fame, it will definitely help you in a better way, so be sure to take a look at website’s worth before taking a link, because the link from a site of bad repute will certainly damage your SEO practice.

Suppose the site has duplicate content from where you got your inbound link, what good you can assume from a site which is already a cheat. Your donor must be worth something.

ix.) Number of Links on Donor Page

Your inbound link will be considered much strong if it is taken from a page where only few outbound links are available. Quality matters in all the aspects of SEO, so do not take a link from a page which has already bunch of outbound links.

6.2. Outgoing Links

Simply, outbound links are those backlinks which are going from your site to others, you can say the opposite of inbound links, as I never advice any one to follow this factor of SEO, because in this case your own website promotion will stop and your competitors will take the advantage of that, never exchange or sell outbound links, except you have to promote your own sister site. Do it just for yourself, or if it is very important for you to go with outbound links for some other website, then use “nofollow” tag along with the link, this will cost you bit less loss.

6.3. Website Internal Linking

i.) The Number of Internal Links

You can interlink your whole websites to a single page, or a single page to whole website. However, I do not advise you to do so, use precise and specific interlinks, only interlink those pages that must be connected to each other due to relevancy, do not create extra interlinks, although interlinks help user to fully surf within your provided information, and that is positive, so use interlinking but be precise.

ii.) Availability of the Sitemap

This is very important that your website have a sitemap so that the crawler can easily read your content and it also help search engine to manage your index ratio, and I am also thinking that this is the last part, right?
